Kat has two chickens, and this is Sugarcube.
Kat Burns is an Ontario based songwriter, producer, composer, voice over and visual artist, obsessed with plants and birds Her songs showcase introspective lyrics, layered arrangements, and pop sensibilities. Inspired by the cities and landscapes surrounding her, she currently performs and releases music under the moniker KASHKA.
A 2021 alumni of the Slaight Music Residency at the Canadian Film Centre, her original compositions have appeared in short films, documentaries, tv, and podcast suites. She is also a skilled voice-over talent, and you may hear her narrating commercials, meditation guides, and instructional videos.
A graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design University, Kat is also a visual artist and educator. She enjoys working with youth in all things art and nature.
Throughout her career, Kat has continued to push the boundaries of her craft. May the pushing continue.
